MARSHA PLAFKIN

Marsha was born in Grand Rapids

and completed a Bachelor of Arts

in Philosophy at Calvin College.

She earned a Master of Arts in Jewish

Studies from The Jewish Theological

Seminary of America in 1990.

Following, she studied illustration at the Parson's School of Design for one year and worked as a grassroots fundraiser for the 1992 Presidential Campaign of Lenora B. Fulani.

Marsha filed her first

ART AS RESPONSA

business license in 1994.

Marsha served as Hillel Director

for the University of California, Davis

and Sacramento State from 1994-1997

and attended the Ziegler School of

Rabbinic Studies from 1997-1999.

Marsha filed her U.S. Trademark

Registration for "Art as Responsa"

in 1999, after signing leave

of absence from Ziegler.

From 2000-2003, she served as rabbi for SW Temple Beth Torah in Gardena, California.
